“Pizza” Patt, started making pizza at 16 for his 1st job in a gourmet pizzeria in Cincinnati Ohio. At age 18 he moved to Columbus, Ohio, and began working at a NY-style, by-the-slice pizzeria, The Flying Pizza. Shortly thereafter, when the owner retired, he purchased the pizzeria. “By 25, I had bought or opened four more pizzerias, purchased some existing ones, opened new locations, and made creative partnerships in existing kitchens. I started competing in US Pizza team events, hosted by PMQ, at 18 years old in 2005 in New York City. Since then I have competed or performed in over 100 pizza making competitions & performances all around the world, including France, Italy, the Caribbean and all over the USA,” Miller said.
Miller has won multiple national and world championships for pizza tossing, acrobatics and various other pizza competitions—accumulating over 30 medals for placing or winning in the process. In 2024, Miller won the Galbani Cup for best non-traditional pizza nationally, and in 2025 won best in the Midwest for non-traditional pizza at the International Pizza Challenge. Miller competed six times at the World Pizza Championship in Italy. In 2013, he sold three pizzerias and began a career in real estate, which led him down a path to becoming a BOLD Coach (Business Objective Life by Design) and a national speaker in the area of sales and mindset. He began to invest and own 10 active AirBNBs and is currently developing seven more rental units. In 2024, Miller rebuilt a pizzeria from the ground up to launch back into the pizza industry after an 11-year break. He has also launched a special events trailer for private events or festivals. Miller is attacking the pizza industry this time around with a new mindset: to run a pizzeria like an owner rather than an owner/operator.
