Erica Barrett is an accomplished restaurateur and founder/owner of Dough Boy Pizza, a “smart restaurant” concept headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. With two locations in Birmingham and Mobile, Alabama, and one location in Decatur, Georgia, Dough Boy Pizza is a fast-casual pizzeria that uses automation—including ordering kiosks, digital screens and text messaging—to ensure speed and efficiency. Even on a busy weekend, Dough Boy Pizza can be operated with one or, at the most, two employees, resulting in an average labor cost of about 11%. In addition to being featured on PMQ Pizza’s August 2023 cover, Barrett has appeared on TV competitions like “Shark Tank” and “The Profit” and also owns SOCU Southern Kitchen and Oyster Bar, with locations in Birmingham and Mobile.
